Moment Project :
We are working in Behandar block of Hordoi disrict of Uttar Pradesh. One Block Coordinator is working with 4 superviser and 10 Peer educators, who are self-selected or selected by the community. One peer educator serves a population of 2500-3000. The peer educators serve as information sources on HTSP/FP and MNCH and to mobilize communities. The community information sharing and mobilization is geared towards increasing knowledge and awareness of the benefits of HTSP/FP and gingering the community to take civic actions for improvement of health services particularly HTSP/FP and use the services made available. The stakeholders which are involved in this approach are CMO (Chief Medical Officer), MOICs, DPMs (District Project Managers, ICDS)), ANMs, ASHAs, AWWs, PRI-(Panchatyi Raj Institution) (members, religious leaders, Govt. Health facilities, private service providers and traditional healers etc.
Project Milestones:
MOMENT is expected to achieve the following milestones by the end of the year:
1. Percentage increase in community knowledge/awareness of accurate HTSP/FP messages.
2. Percentage increase in service provider knowledge/awareness of accurate HTSP/FP messages and appropriate counseling for modern FP methods
3. Percentage increase in new FP acceptors, continuing FP users, and FP users per contraceptive method at project public and private HTSP/FP service provision sites
4. Percentage increase in number of public and private HTSP/FP service provision sites that provide modern contraceptive methods
